The Social Value Company played a crucial role in the £360 million redevelopment of Manchester Town Hall and Albert Square. This landmark project involved a comprehensive strategy to maximis social value from one of Manchester’s largest capital investments.
A significant aspect of our work was the development of the Social Value Procurement Strategy. This strategy was pivotal in the selection process for the managing contractor for the Our Town Hall Project, ensuring that the procurement reflected the project’s commitment to social value.
To streamline the procurement process, we developed a specialised software platform. This tool facilitated the efficient and transparent procurement of the managing contractor, aligning with the project’s overarching social objectives.
Our responsibilities extended to creating a Social Value Framework. This framework was designed to monitor and evaluate the social value commitments made by the design team, the construction partner, and its supply chain throughout the construction process.
The construction process of this project is estimated to generate over £750 million in social value for the city of Manchester. This translates to an impressive ratio of £2.08 of social value for every £1 invested, underlining the project’s significant impact on the community.
These subheadings help to organise the content into clear, focused sections, each highlighting a different aspect of the Social Value Company’s involvement in the redevelopment of Manchester Town Hall and Albert Square, emphasising the project’s impact and the strategies implemented.
